I think something funky is up, though, because when I played last night I did get past level 4 so I don't know why it would restart me there in any event. What it is supposed to do is restart you on the level you were at when you left the game last...I've never noticed a problem with this, though it could happen if somehow your game session didn't get saved to the savefile.
